juicebox is a distortion bro. it uses bit reduction, into a multi band drive then into a saturation stage, because it sounds 🔥. the distortion is preceded and followed by 3 band EQs, to sculpt what gets driven and what comes out. friggin science. used lightly you get hella warmth and glue. crank that dial for a full on bonfire.

“juice” is the amount of distortion, thats why we’re here.

“pre” and “post” sliders control a 3 band EQ each, before and after the juice. this allows tone sculpting into and after the drive for hecka flexibility.

“reset” clears the EQ settings and returns everything to 0…

“drank” is a wobbly vibrato for all that vinyl sim you know you need.

“hipass” is a hi pass, pre distortion, get it?

“out” is the output volume that comes just after a gentle “british” console type o’ EQ response.

these plugins will be grey'd out and not pass audio if you are using max 8. you need to goto cycling 74' and download max 9, install it then point ableton to use max 9 in your preferences. open ableton preferences, goto "file & folder" then choose "max application" and pick max 9. all the king grump plugins use some new things that got introduced in max9, ableton will be packaging max 9 with ableton very soon, but still waiting for that to happen.
